Become a Mentor!
According to the National Mentoring Partnership, of the 17.6 million young people who want or need mentors, only 2.5 million
are in formal mentoring relationships. Get involved and help change this statistic!
Mentoring...what you should know!

Mentors can select which grade level of students (3rd-12th grade) they want to work with, along with the school. Mentors
need to commit to:
- Working with a small group of mentees (3-4 students)
- Meeting with their mentees on a set weekday during school hours (8am-3:30pm) at schools in Warren, Highland Park, Oak Park, or Pontiac
- Attending a three-hour training
- Participating in an interview and background check
How it Works!
- Mentors meet in a classroom with their mentees (program staff are on-site to support you).
- Mentors are guided through the program's curriculum. The structured sessions have a set topic of the day and activities to complete.
- Mentors encourage their students while they develop their character values, set goals, explore careers, and prepare for the future.
- Each week, staff send mentors an email to prepare them for the upcoming session and supply them with resources.
Current Openings (sessions are one hour long)
- Ford School in Highland Park - Tuesday 9:00am (4th Grade) or 12:30pm (5th grade)
- Community High School in Warren - Tuesday 9:20am or 10:25am
- Cousino High School in Warren (12th Grade) - Wednesday 12:15pm
- Warren Mott High School in Warren (12th Grade) - Thursday 10:20am
- Pontiac Central High School (11th Grade) - Thursday 8:15am or 12:30pm
